Energetic Phenomena on the Sun
نویسنده
چکیده
AbstracL Solar flares, coronal mass ejections (CMEs), solar energetic particles (SEPs), and fast solar wind rqrresent the energetic phenomera on the Sun. Flares and CMEs originate from closed magnetic field shuctures on the Sun typically found in active regions and quiescent filamant regions. On the other hand, fast solar wind originates from open field regions on the Sun, identified as coronal holes. Energetic particles are associated with flares, CMEs, and fast solar wind, but the ones associated with CMEs are the most intense. The energetic phenomenahave important consequences in the heliosphere and conhibute significantly to adverse space weather. This paper provides an over view of the energetic phenomena on the Sun including their origin interplanetary propagation and q)ace weather consequences.

Thermodynamic analysis of a novel solar water heating system during low sun radiation in Iran
This paper reports a plenary thermodynamic model of a novel solar system for water heating in buildings. Energy and exergy analyses are used to characterize the exergy destruction rate in any component and calculate system overall efficiency. The system consists of a solar evaporator, a heat exchanger to produce hot water, and an auxiliary pump. A computer simulation program using EES software ...

Space weather research involves the study of the Sun and Earth from a systems viewpoint to improve the understanding and prediction of solar-terrestrial variability. There are a wide variety of solar-terrestrial imagery, spectroscopic measurements, and in situ space environmental data that can be exploited to improve our knowledge and understanding of the phenomena and processes involved in spa...
متن کاملThe Unpredictability of the Most Energetic Solar Events
Observations over the past two solar cycles show a highly irregular pattern of occurrence for major solar flares, γ-ray events, and solar energetic particle (SEP) fluences. Such phenomena do not appear to follow the direct indices of solar magnetic activity, such as the sunspot number. I show that this results from non-Poisson occurrence for the most energetic events. This Letter also points ou...

We briefly discuss GLAST’s capabilities for observing high-energy radiation from various energetic phenomena in our solar system. These emissions include: bremsstrahlung, nuclear-line and pion-decay gamma-radiation, and neutrons from solar flares; bremsstrahlung and pion-decay gamma radiation from cosmic-ray interactions with the Sun, the Moon, and the Earth’s atmosphere; and inverse Compton ra...
متن کاملInfluence of Solar-Probe Inherent Atmosphere on In-Situ Observations
The solar corona is the source of the solar wind, which is responsible for the heliosphere and plays a crucial role in solar/terrestrial phenomena. A comprehensive understanding of these phenomena can be established only by directly measuring ion and electron velocity distributions, plasma waves, and fluxes of energetic particles near the sun. The problem resulting from the inherent atmosphere ...
